Glitter goes for gold

With the Olympics just around the corner; the fashion focus is on shiny, like the prized medals. Fashion and culture have continuous links to each other; other than sportswear, what better way to connect the world sports event to fashion, than a little bit of glitter.  Sparkling, dazzling, glimmering glitter steals the limelight on catwalks and high-streets alike.

Stunning crowds glitter has impacted the runways of designers from Fyodor Golan creating a sure sparkling statement with green glitter covering a models entire torso and head to Libertine’s sequin embellishment in glittery effect at New York’s fashion Week for Autumn/Winter 2012.

The glitter effect updates the girly look with an air of stylish optimism perhaps Britain will do well in the London games on home territory just as British designers have not failed to please at London’s Fashion Weeks.  

You cannot escape a little glitter in your wardrobe and it is so easy to do. Grab a glitter nail varnish; there are some gorgeous Barry M shades or jazz up your wardrobe with sequins. This trend is perfect as its super easy to customise too; add a few sequins if on a tight budget even to a pair of jeans or shorts (depending on your patience sewing them can be quite therapeutic too).

So reach new heights and dazzle the stars with your sparking wardrobe.
