Peplums

The newest fashion craze… PEPLUMS. It’s a lovely, technique adding shape to a fitted bodice that has been seen on red carpets, catwalks and even high-street stores.

The ruffled feature gives more body to your waist and in the sophisticated designs that are currently in fashion looks great. They are a great way to update the classic tailoring to give a sharp, powerful shape with feminine appeal.

In my Red Carpet Triumphs blog a few days ago, Emma Watson wore a Jason Wu top with peplums. Lots of designer collections for Spring/Summer 2012 use the element. Givenchy mixes the elegant silhouette with a gothic twist using black lace, feathers and leather and a unique twist is put on them in the Cushnie Et Ochs with peplums of a mirror, metal material. I also love the peplums of Vera Wang and Alexander McQueen’s S/S 2012 collections.
